The next step..

Today I've cut my patch in half and its weird but I don't feel any different. I thought I would feel a few cravings so far I haven't. The reason I have cut my patch is because I am on a program called Close the Gap and can get nicotine patches cheap, $5.20 to be exact but this program only covers the first stage of NRT. So I'm being cheap and decided to cut them in half. I would love to be off patches by Christmas but we will wait and see. I don't want to rush and slip up. I just don't want to worry about my patch showing as some family moments didn't know I smoked and I would like to keep it that way. Plus we have a pool so we swim and lounge around the pool all day and so I'll be taking the patch off and on all day. Which I'm sure will affect it, I'm not 100% sure on this though. Keep up the good work guys...

Well that's one way of ''cutting'' back the nicotine intake, but I think you will be fine just do at you're pace and what you feel comfortable with and I'm sure you will be able to at least go one day without a patch. Stay strong positive and quit all the best

Hiya, well done on making it. Nearly one month down, awesome.

I have yet not been able to stop the patches I am still on 14 mg and not game to cut back to the 7mg just yet.

I am interested in hearing your experience on going patch free, how are the cravings? Is it your strength that allows you to get through it? Any trouble sleeping? I would appreciate any tips or comments you have to help me go to that next step. Thanks

WHOO HOO, CONGRATULATIONS!

Hi NicSucceed. I have found the cravings, urges not as strong or often as when I was on the patches. I felt ready so took that step but don't rush... I started feeling sick from them so that was the next logic step for me. I just woke up Sunday morning and didn't put one on. Day 4 off the patches is now all but over..
