Is it okay?

Hi, I am so annoyed with myself as I had 1/2 cigarette last night at 8pm but haven't had one since. Do I have to go through full withdrawals again? How about mental withdrawals? I want to stay at day 25 as that shows how much money I've saved. But feel guilty because of my slip up. Is it okay :( feel so disappointed

schedule 11 Sep 2013

it is only 1/2 a cigarette big deal why worry about it you only had a small slip up everyone does the main thing is you are back on track you should get rid of all the temptation all the ash trays lighters anything that reminds you of smoking well all the best.

Hi Sharon

I definitely would keep your count at 25 days, I would love to be that far along!!

The main thing was that the 1/2 didn't soften your resolve or make your quit fall over, and hopefully the memory of feeling terrible for the hiccup up will help prevent any more slip ups

back on track and stronger than ever you should be now, well done

Hi Larch,

Thank you so much for your comments. How far have you been a non smoker for now? I am going to keep the 25 days as I didn't have that second one. Yes it was horrible my whole body was rejecting it, it felt really heavy and tense. So back on track. I think your right it will be a reminder of not to light up again as it was truly terrible. Just have to get through the mental now. I just went on another site quitcoach.org.au if you want to try that one if you haven't already. You just fill in a survey and the letter you receive is more catered to your individual needs/feelings. well all the best, stay strong :)

hi Sharon

I am only really day one today!! (whoo hoo) 1/2 cig yesterday, none today; seems my biggest problem is habit.

What I am finding helps is the ideas on the 'Cognitive Quitting' site, all about recognising your body triggers and changing them, worth having a look at if you haven't yet. Whether cognitive quitting is all good, or just resonated with me it seems to help
