Help- worst sleep ever

I’ve just experienced the worst sleep during night 1 cold turkey. Fell asleep fine but constantly waking throughout the night, vivid dreams, sleep talking and barely feel like I slept. That was a bad night that I attribute to withdrawals, any tips or hope for it getting better?? I’ve never had sleep issues before but that felt like torture

Hi loza well done to you on day one done and dusted 🙌 meditation can be helpful with sleep and relaxation I find Sarah blondin pretty good but there many more on line. Also you can call the quit line and talk to someone there they have lots of tips. I don't know about you but for me smoking masked alot of things for me anxiety being one of them. I am on day 36 smoke free cold turkey and will be looking into getting some help today with this anxiety. I going to talk with a doctor and see about getting a referral to someone who specialises is anxiety. I am not picking up smoking again. I will address this anxiety instead and come through this smoke free and anxiety free. No matter what I am not having a cigarette and I will accept help in doing this. Best of luck and keep going as this to shall pass ❤️😊🧚

Also loza go through and read some past stories there is lots of wisdom and tips there. I also find putting some of my focus and time into helping others by leaving comments helps me get off myself which is good too. ❤️

Its very early days yet Loza, just try to think of one joyful and beautiful thing that you experienced during your day just before you go to sleep, this will help you realize how many things can give you a lift during your day, without that hateful Nicotine and cigarette taking over. Practice religiously every day NOPE (not one puff ever) this will help your resolve.
Keep going, you will find it gets easier, every day you put behind you.
As in life you will experience lack of sleep if you are too worried about something, put your worries and plans aside by writing out a to do list for the next day before you go to bed, then put them to bed too.
I used to throw my worries into a yellow bag, you can choose a different colour, then wait and act the next day, the old expression of sleep on it, just means you believe things will come to right by themselves.
As Jess suggested meditation is a habit, which will help overcome any anxiety/stress and you might experience in your life in general. One thing for sure smoking will not help this, it just masks underlying problems that need to be resolved. Keep on going, and stay in touch

Sorry to hear you are losing zzzzz's. But remember that you are gaining so much more!
Meditation and exercise should do the trick as well as eating foods with tryptophan (remember how turkey had you napping on the couch?)
Melatonin is a natural sleep aid. I try to stop thinking and pretend I am on a warm, sunny beach listening to the waves. I have also listened to Youtube videos of Rain on a Tent. Just be sure to have it end and not continue on to the next video of a crashing thunderstorm!

Thanks for the tips- usually pretty good with sleep hygiene practices but the nicotine withdrawal insomnia caught me off guard.
