Welcome Rhee you have come to the right place, this is a great community full of support. First of all heaps of successful quitters read the Allen Carr's Easy way to quit book. I've just started reading it myself. You need to learn to see the smokes for what they are, they're not your friend, they steal your money, time, health and dignity. They do nothing for stress and they rule us by addiction and trick us vonto thinking we like it. You can also bread the book online. One of our members Happiness shares the free link if you want to have a read. It will help you see the smokes for what they are, and apparently teaches you how to quit the easy way. You have nothing to lose but so much to gain๐Ÿ˜Š

Welcome Rhee, You need to stop excusing yourself, like others have suggested read and get into the right frame of mind. You need to stay close to the forum, You need to develop a Mantra of your own eg N.O.P.E (Not one puff ever). You need to look after your health by doing some exercise that suits you. You need to write out lists of alternative activities, which you find pleasurable. Never think smoking is pleasurable it isn't. You NEED TO SET A QUIT DATE.

Hi Rhee. Definitely read the book. It was really helpful to me. But nothing is going to work miracles. It takes resolve. I too had failed numerous times before. But I don't believe I was truly invested in the previous attempts. My head has been in the right space this time, and reading the book strengthened my resolve. You have everything to gain.

smoking may not have been the cause, for my stroke but having not been a smoker for over a year probably helped save me from worse. you can do anything if you stay positive and stay determined.

Hey guys thanks for all of the advice, well I did it today marked 2Weeks! I know I know, i guess I really wasn't invested and was very lazy throughout this year I have had some huge successes I've quit smoking in January, and then relapsed I then quit in May and relapsed the quit again in August and relapsed, I've been working closely with my doctor and I guess all of Thoes time I "quit" made me a bit more stronger, 1st December I quit! Yes I've had a slip up once or twice but i didn't give up quitting as previous attempts, I'm 27 with 3 young children and I not only want to do it for them but I want to do it for me, i haven't read this allen cars book as yet but everyone says it's amazing! Thank you all for your tough advice I see it in a positive side this time rereading it rather than disapproval critism the first time around, would love to hear how you all are going. Xx rhee

Why not read and find out how we are doing? I am glad you are back and did not give up "Giving Up". If for some reason this is not the final attempt, try reading my post entitled that. Just click on my name here above and scroll through until you find my piece. Getting into the right mindset is crucial. Allan Carr's book delves more into it. I am posting the link again in your newest post so others have it available. The administrators didn't like me posting it.....but I do occasionally. I hope you and others will take advantage of the FREE reading. At least save it somewhere. Many as reported to not read it because it might work!

Your dependence on nicotine has passed , with very little residual. You are missing the jolt of dopamine that cigarettes delivered in a "Rush". That is why those on nicotine patches still get cravings despite receiving it slowly. You are now dealing with the psychological part of quitting smoking. We can quit smoking. You can make this time successful. You've invested so much time and effort. Don't give up .Quitting smoking is one of the best decisions of your life! Have you ever heard of someone wishing that they smoked?
