I thought I'd list the strategies that have worked for me over the last 108 days in the hope some of you might find them useful.
1. NRT LOZENGES. Champix didn't work for me but the lozenges certainly help with my quit anxiety.
2. NAMING THE HABIT. I named the habit after a person who is no longer in my life. This person caused nothing but angst and I am better off without them.
3. RUNNING ON THE SPOT. great for when I have a craving but have run out of chocolates.
4. KNITTING, PAINTING, CLEANING OUT CUPBOARDS, LOOKING AT OLD PHOTO ALBUMS. These are all great time wasters that get you through the craving and give you something else to think about
5. CHECKING OUT NEW POSTS AND REREADING FAVOURITES. Honestly, all of you are a godsend and I wouldn't have made it this far without you.

Thanks Feather you are awesome in posting such tips. I am using some of them. Hope this time I can quit.
108 days.........winner!

I use lozenges and chewies. I am having terrible trouble with my teeth. My jaw tightens if I quit. I have special exercises from the doctor.

What a great list. I have a stratergy pie. I drew a circle and kept deviding into parts of a circle, like slices of pie. Then I wrote my stratergies in the wedges. Iv'e got things like - quitline - drawing - rewards - music - NRT - phonecalls - professional advice - walks - relaxation - puzzles - spend savings - cooking - deep breathe - knitting - posative self talk - gardening - smoke free visits - talking to my partner - will power. The quitline encouraged me to take copies and put them around the house. Unfortunately I left my original at the library in the photocopier.
