Go away cravings

Can anyone tell me how long it took to get through the day where having a smoke wasn't on your mind?? It's been a week for me and I just want to feel normal again!!
Hi Diana
I am on day 140 now and some days I still think of a smoke. I don't have one but the thought is still there at times. I spoke to someone the other day who has not smoked for several years, and they told me they still crave for one every now and again. I think sometimes too, it depends on what NRT you are using.

I know someone who said even after 25 years of being a non smoker there are still times when he would like one but that it's just a brief thought.
Maybe have a read of Allen Carrs 'Only way to quit smoking' and see if it will turn your mind around.
Thing is - as time goes on - its only a thought and not an obsession - the thought comes and goes

my dad hasent smoked for 20 years and stil get a craving..but dont let that put u off quiting.it is so worth it.good luck...

Hi Diana, I am on day 23, They say it takes 2-3 weeks to break a habit. Thinking about walking outside and having a smoke is habit, not necessarily a craving. Like every addiction there are good and bad days but the good by far outweigh the bad :-) Soldier on, you got this!

Hi Diana. Where do I start? Quitting smoking has 2 sides. There is the ordinary up's and down's but there is a broad overarching upward trend which (when you quit) continues on and on and on. For me its been over 2 and a bit years. I am still happy (!!) that I have quit. (I used the nicobate lozenges and the E-cigs as well till i didnt feel scared anymore :-)

thanks for all your feedback. Today is day 10 and it is such a roller coaster. Today all I want to do is have a smoke, although some days are really great, but don't worry I'm not having one :)
