Tracking your usage and triggers

I smoked through various times in my life. Recently I had given up for 12 years then picked it up again quite heavily for over 2 years, during that period I had tried and failed to quit a couple of times. I am now 17 days quit and am really not bothered about having another cigarette at all. (One of my flatmates is a smoker and can manage any temptation with little effort). Well I think it is a really good tool to track your usage. My intake went up as I was trying to give up this time in a linear way. I downloaded the Max Kirsten Quit Smoking App for the iPad. It cost me about $8. Between this and tracking my smoking I was able to quit days before the end of the year. I just committed to tracking why and when I wanted to smoke and also doing the daily hypotherapy sessions. For me it's getting past day 3. Once you are past day 3 most of the physical cravings are gone and then it's about replacing the habit with something else. For me its been producing electronica music. Whatever it is has to be something you genuinely enjoy and is hopefully something that is good for you or at least not damaging for you. I like the whole positive reinforcement reward therapy angle. Well good luck and I hope you will kick the habit too.
