I have not smoked for 3 days now - not a long time I know but it's the best success I have had after several attempts at quitting. Previously I have used gum, minitabs, inhalers, a herbal mixture under the tongue and cold turkey - none of these worked for me. 3 days ago I had an hour laser therapy session and have not smoked since - the laser supposedly increases your endorphin levels to elevate your mood and make withdrawal symptoms easier to handle. There isn't really any scientific research/evidence to back up the effectiveness of this treatment but I feel it will work for me. I knew I had to give up smoking but I was scared to - I thought I wouldnt be able to handle it. I haven't had any really bad cravings - sometimes I find myself thinking "I'll have a smoke soon" - forgetting I'm now a non-smoker, but I just take some deep breaths and talk myself out of it. I also find reading the benefits of quitting timelines and imagining my body healing really helpful. Tracking my quit progress and money saved is also a great incentive. In a funny way I am enjoying the challenge. I look forward to chalking up each smoke free day and can't wait to tell family and friends how many days I've been smoke free. Good luck on your quitting journey everyone! Be proud!

I'm up to day 10 and still smoke free. Still having some cravings but keep talking myself out of it. While I mentioned I had laser therapy I think it's will power that makes the difference. No matter what method you choose to quit - it will also require will power. I find deep breathing and thinking about the health benefits of not smoking help when the cravings kick in! Try to ride them out rather than caving in to a smoke or puff - they don't last too long! Best wishes everyone!
