Ok, so its only been 14 days nicotine free ~ after 50 years of smoking ~but im still hanging in there, with the help of Champix.

I have a question, since stopping i have been vaping - but with Zero nicotine content .Its just to help the psycological side for now.

Im just wondering if im cheating myself!!

Anyone else resorted to this?

Hi and no your not cheating

There's no nicotine involved

I am doing the same I use a vape only when I feel really strong cravings and few puffs on the vape and I'm fine.

It also nicotine free.

I'm only using it until I feel completely comfortable with this new me.

I said to myself no more than 1 to 2 months with this vape only for bad cravings.

I think Gemma has a valid point.

As long as it contains no nicotine you are winning one battle at a time. Just keep your desire for total freedom burning. One bad addictive drug and poisons for who knows what? Vaping may still cause long term harm, is still an expense and a drain on your time and freedom. As short term why not, I think it is better than an NRT which still keeps you hooked on the nicotine.

If you view vaping as a way to a timely end of smoking altogether and within a month ditch it as well, why not? In the interm, if used only for your so called stress relief, vape in the bathroom as medication. Do not view it as something you enjoy either. It should also be viewed as a medication that you would like to get off of. See how boring it is when alone, how pointless,

Change your mind how you view smoking. Realize it really does NOTHING. Soon you should tire of taking time out to medicate and find something better to do.....

Pull 25 weeds instead of vaping. Don't like pulling weeds? Good. The lawn will love you for awhile though. Win. Win.

In essence, NRT's keep you on nicotine while you lower the nicotine intake (I am not sure a smoker of 10 cigarettes a day finds it any easier than the 30 a day smoker.) but you are not inhaling the TAR and POISONS while dealing with the psychological aspect of quitting smoking at the same time.

Knowledge is power. Read, Learn and Desire Freedom.

Possible bad news for you. I too am a champion user living on the Central Coast.went to get my repeat filled only to find none of 36 chemists had any in stock. Finally got hold of an online chemist in Vic who were down to their last 2 packets.q No new supplies due until September.. probably because they are made by Pfizer who are busy producing covid vaccine

Gerbil, you're an inspiration to me!

I have been a smoker for 36 years...and a heavy one at that. Well done for being two weeks into a new, smoke free life!

I can't see the harm in nicotine-free vaping if you're feeling desperate. The only problem is perpetuating that hand-to mouth action when you really want your brain to let that go.

My Quit Date is tomorrow (29th) and I've had six cigarettes today - about 18-20 less than usual. I practised sitting on my hands, closing my eyes and deep breathing when I was twitching for one (smoking is just inhale and exhale, when you think about it.) Five minutes of slow, mindful deep breaths seemed to calm me down until the feeling passed.

Well done of what you've achieved - it's fantastic!
