Honest

Serial quitter for the last year. I have probably been smoke free longer than a smoker in this time but keep thinking I can have a few puffs. Need to be true to myself and no more sneaky puffs which leads to more and more. It’s in our hands and I want to be free and stop lying to everyone especially myself.

Hi Evergreen. You should read my response to Siva, which I just finished before even reading your post.
Do you follow us on a regular basis? So you find any changes in your thoughts of smoking?
One of the first things people learn here is NOPE, Not One Puff Ever!
Well, something that first sticks in the mind, seemingly not believed by some.
We try to make the journey easier , but some like to do it the hard way eh?
Tell us WHY you want to smoke more than you want to quit. The concept that smoking ever did anything for us needs to be debunked. We are stronger than nicotine, and we can quit smoking when we CHOOSE to.
Roll up a few $20.....and maybe even have a couple of hundreds to wrap around them. . Put them in a jar. Put your lighter in with them. If you want a smoke, then you smoke,. It's your choice......quit smoking or literally watch your money go up in smoke. Why not? It is money that you have saved by not smoking. You would have set fire to it anyways. The money to follow.....well...it's just money.

I was once where you are now Evergreen, but then I had no idea of the pull that Nicotine had over my thought and body processes. I thought I could take it or leave it, which I did most of one year. Then I joined this site and researched Nicotine a whole lot more, because.....you guessed it.....I couldnt let go at all. Nope (not one puff ever) was needed as my Mantra and I still use it today.
Please start thinking of a stronger committment to non smoking, and please research and stay close to this forum....You need to begin every day with NOPE (not one puff ever).

Thank you so much. I know yes it is my choice and this time I choose nope. I convince myself that I feel better when I’m having a couple to stop the withdrawal symptoms. I know it’s so untrue I will know just ride with the feelings

Cravings really are just thoughts. It is the quitter who imagines things worse than they are. There need not be ANY discomfort. Even when they get a steady dose from nicotine patches, the cravings are still in the mind.
I quit cold turkey with the hardest days being prior to quitting, thinking that I could cut down. That does not make it easier. Cold turkey was easier. No problem after that except those minor thoughts the first 72 hours while I adjusted my way of thinking.
You can do it this time!
