Cravings
Right this is the 6th time I’ve quit . I beat myself up for being such a dope and hate that I want a cigarette again . Ive been smoking rollies for a few years and then found organic tobacco which gave me a false sense of safety , I know it’s not logical but the mind felt better in the delusion haha . Now 9 days smoke free and I’ve had the worst back spasms that have almost crippled me and the pain excruciating so I nearly gave in but I didn’t. After decades of smoking I realise the smoke is a bad substitute for loneliness . I’ve had to cut toxic people out so the toxic smoke has to to . Wish me luck . I’ve never reached out before but I am now as I realise I have to love myself enough to quit and be healthy . Good luck to all 🙏🏽😊

Welcome Seashell, there are many reasons why you caved in before, and that is not a crime, but it is not a good enough reason to try to keep the demon Nicotine in control of your emotions.
Loneliness should not be underestimated I lost my partner through ill health, this was devastating, but the hardest part was not having or getting some comfort from others, we didn't have forums in those days. It is truly crippling, and you do substitute many feelings with a cigarette.
It helped me to realize that if I thought of Nicotine as the poison in my life it helped. If I faced my feelings and turned them around mentally this was difficult but a big plus.
Good on those who have had success with one quit, it just means they were better prepared and/or joined a support group and read a lot about the harm that Nicotine does to our physical health and gradually seeps into our mental association of dealing with a problem which is a kind of distorted reasoning.
Keep reading posts to begin with we all have a lot to offer and recognise our own personal human frailties.

Thank you all for the support and it helps to know we’re on the same team . 🙏🏽🦋👍🤞 10 days no smoking 🚭. I don’t feel good yet which surprises me . Is it normal to feel awful and not have the energy back ? When I’ve quit before I felt better really fast so I’m getting worried 😟
