So with Nicotine Patches you still have nicotine in your system after the 3 month course? I dont like that idea and struggling now with my commitment. Can't go back on Champix because Dr wont risk it with my depression. I feel like just trying to go cold turkey now. So confused.

Hi there, if you are strong enough to go cold turkey why not, if you can hack it & you are determined enough you will succeed whichever way you go. Cold turkey is the fastest way to be nicotine free which is the smaller part of the addiction, it's the habit the psychological addiction of the habit is the real challenge to beat. So it is a mindset you just need to want to quit more than you want to smoke. Do whats right for you but back yourself you can quit if you want it enough.

Oh thank you Leeann. Haha I went back on the patches already because it was much harder just for a few hours without them. I guess they help to give that time to break the habit, so I will stick with them. Just got a bit flustered this morning but feeling back on track now.

Stay on the patches, they worked for me. Its been 2 years 8 months since I gave up, and I don't miss cigarettes. I smoked over 40 years. You can do it. Each smoke free day is a success. Be kind to yourself it does get easier and easier.
