Taken the plunge and quit. Day 2.

schedule 12 Oct 2016

So this is my second day of no smoking. I have spent the evening fighting tears and reading others stories for inspiration.

After thinking about how i would love to be a non smoker, not being out of breath after a short workout, saving so much money, not having to try and get rid of the smell of smoke every time i go home to my partner I finally took the plunge and went to my local quit smoking clinic.

I am a serious creature of habit and i knew exactly when i would have a cigarette every single day. My 'routine' is up in the air BUT i look forward to the day i can positively say i am a non smoker and i will not have another single puff!

Good luck to anyone else just starting out, well done to everyone who has got there.

Hi Katie, look take it step by step or day by day. Will not be easy at first but you must hang in there....use nrt lollies or whatever to kill cravings which i assure you will decrease in time. The habit is also hard to break from my experience but do not run away from it. Some say change routine but i did not lay up on things i was used to except for not having the cigarette between my fingers. Keep posting and come back often as it does help . Good Luck.

Ho Katie.Rose. Stick to your plan. I am up to day 503. I say this because once a smoker, always a smoker. Regardless how long you abstain, you will NEVER be a non smoker. You just WILL NOT SMOKE. Have you ever heard a non smoker say, I would love a cigarette. Of course not. That is why you get power from the likes of us quitters. It is a fantastic group to belong to. I hope those you "meet" on this site last the distance. Lots don't. You can if you want to.
