Quitting - again . . . .

Hi everyone. I just took my first Champix this morning in another attempt & hopefully my final attempt to quit. I have never taken Champix before and I don't know what to expect but I'm willing to give anything a go.

I've been a smoker for 40 years and have given up many times in the past. The last time was three years ago for 10 months. I've always done it cold turkey but realise now that I need help to stay off them permanently.

I'm not only doing it for my health but all the Bali holidays I can have with the money I save. 😀

Thanks for the encouragement Wendy. I always thought that I could do it cold turkey, and I have in the past. The longest I went was 2 1/2 years! I have thought long and hard about doing the Champix thing and always thought it wasn't for me.

My problem is quitting for good. I'll give them a go but at the first sign of a bad reaction, I'll stop.

Now that I've found this site that seems full of people offering support, it may be just what I need.

Thanks again and I'll definitely check out WhyQuit.com.

I'm taking champax and feel great. Was tempted though to give up before I even started though as I felt nauseous and couldn't sleep. Best thing I did was keep taking the tablets. Didn't pick my quit day until about 2 weeks into it. I've quit before and been pretty miserable. At the moment, I've never been happier. I rarely feel like a smoke and I would have to say that I've had very few strong cravings. I put it down to the champax for me. Good luck.
