Day one

Hi guys,
My name is Jess.
Today is day one, I have chosen to try the QSN tablets that are all over Facebook at the moment. I'm looking for support and some non smoking buddies to assist me along the way and vice versa. My main concern is the psychology behind stopping and my triggers and habits. In the morning, after meals, on the phone etc etc. I want to try and replace my old habits and behaviours with new healthy and positive ones. I have a notepad with lots of things listed to do instead like take a walk, shower or read a book etc etc.
I know I'm literally on at step 1 but figured posting on here would make me more accountable. I thought I understood nicotine addiction until I started reading Allan Carrs quit smoking book, the science behind it really intrigues me and makes me more aware that I'm a victim to this rubbish and I'm not actually choosing to continue to cmoke instead I feel like I've been delaying stopping simply because I'm addicted not because I think I want to keep smoking. That's been a big learning curve and helpful thus far.

That is exactly where I am at. 3 days to my quit date. I am behind you all the way

Thanks to all who have responded. Wendyohno you have given me lots of useful advice, I like the idea of slow and steady and being familiar with old habits and taking it easy rather than refrain completely and potentially fail if faced with the issue ins weak moment, as I won't have gained any coping skills if I just try to abstain 100%. Thanks again, will keep you all posted. :)

Time is your friend, just give it time, be patient, I think I am talking to myself lol. I am 5hrs into a quit, trust all is going well for you Jaylee
