Ready To Plan A Smoke Free Life

Posted in Getting started
schedule 22 Mar 2016

Hi I would just like to introduce myself to the icanquit program :-)

I've finally taken the 1st steps into starting a smoke free life

I began smoking age 12 I am now age 37....

The only times I have ever sucessfully quit was the duration of my 3 pregnancies my youngest daughter is now 15 years old. I have asked myself over & over as to why did I pick up the fags after going all that time without a single puff

I don't even like cigarettes I hate the smell , tast & the cravings I have wanted to give up & ive finally come to the realisation that it's just not that simple , so today I took myself off to see my GP & talk about a realistic plan which is suitable for me

I've been prescribed champix also I have just gotton off the phone from the quit line & right now have signed up & made myself a profile here. I've set myself a realistic date ( Wednesday 30th March ) my reasion for picking this paticular day / date is to start off by breaking the cycle on this day ( pay day ) I would be waking up getting straight in the car going directly to the bank & 1st thing would be to go straight to the tobacinest

So by the time this date comes around I will already have started on the champix I will also have my quit kit & hopefully by being here also will help out by being among like minded people who are all here with the same goal & to help each other through the rough patches which I expect will come

Anyway Thank You All & wishing everyone here strength & positivity to get through this & get rid of fags once & forall!!!

Looking forward to a much healthier lifestyle not to mention the $$$

Cheers Guys xXx

I have been going for two weeks today and found that the hardest part was deciding to quit - oh the anxiety attacks. Get as much mental fuel as you can (knowledge about smoking and how to quit) then go for it - look forward to bring free. Stay calm, deep breathe, hug your cat, be grateful you've quit
