- Day 12 going cold turkey.
Day 12 going cold turkey.

So today is day twelve quitting cold turkey.
Now, I have slipped a few times and took a puff or two of my mothers vape pen. But! I have not touched a cigarette. Today I've been doing so well after the first week with cravings and stuff. Today has been really tough, I think it is because I am at home alone and I used to smoke when I was bored. This has been so hard. I think the most negative experiences I've had so far are I've been eating so much more and I have been drinking a lot of coffee and tea. Anything hot seems to curb my cravings a little bit. And I have been SUPER MOODY. The biggest reason I have quit is because I believe that smoking has made my acne worse. Since I have quit I have no new break outs just left over scars. So that is my biggest motivator to stop cold turkey. I know I do not need cigarettes and I've kind of just been pretending that they do not exist.... I work at a carry out restaurant/store and people buy cigs constantly. But It has not made me crave them surprisingly. I can smell it on them and just see that they are not healthy. I'm so determined to really stop this time. I know that the hardest days are over. One day at a time :)

Keep at it!!!!! It sounds as if you are doing really well and that you are absolutely determined to quit for good. It is day 12 for me too. I too am really determined to stop for good this time. After a surprisingly easy first week, I have had moments of the last few days where I have felt absolutely awful. I have found logging in here and reading the stories of others' is really helping me stay focussed. I have started getting up a bit earler and going for a walk. This is helping me big time. Also, I have cut back on my coffee consumption and increased my tea consumption. This has helped me. I think we have to be aware that it might be a while before we can well and truly say that we are over the hold nicoteen has on us and that we are in the clear. We have to be prepared for the moments when we find it really tough like you are obviously feeling today. All the best for your quitting journey.

You are doing great!! I have been off the cigarettes for 66 days and there is still times when I miss it and other times I feel good. Saying that , I haven't had a big drinking night as I know that will be my weakness. I have also joined the gym and have been working out 6 days a week - embarrassingly to say because I get huffy and puffy and although it isn't the same as having a cigarette, I can pretend..
Good luck, just remember some days are easy and some days are hard and its working out how to get through the tough days

When I got to ten days up my daughter wanted to see me. This was last year. She congratulated me for getting to double digits. This stressed me so much I only made it eleven days. I just wanted to lay low until I had more time up. I felt so exposed.
