schedule 20 Jan 2015

Hey Guys ,  Anyone got angry on slipped up ? well , i am. i set my quit date on 18-1-15 but the urge and temptation was so strong as i was surrounded by smokers on my work place plus some stupid triggers , i smoked a few during the day . Here is what i understand why i slipped up

1. My No.1 urge to smoke is after meal / morning Coffee .

2. If i hold a cigarette packet with me which is the worst one , I could not resist the urge

Now , i know i did smoke after deciding to quit but i am not giving up ! i am trying to deal with the reason for slip up , for those people who are going through the same situation , please identify the reason and deal with it the next time how NOT to take a puff .

For me , No more keping the packet with me and No more morning coffee.

Hope i will keep fighting !!!    Good luck guys !

Dear Quitforgood, it happens. Good that you decided to continue even though you slipped up. First of all throw all the cigarette packets and lighters hidden anywhere. Remember one important thing is urge to smoke only last for 2-5 mins., if you can hold yourself for these minutes you will be through. For time being avoid your smoker friends, avoid the places where you use to smoke before, change coffee timing and place of coffee. Keep yourself busy and occupied. Important note from Tony Robbins, the pain and pleasure concept. Whenever you think about smoking think the bad effects of smoking, feel bad about it, you imagine if you get cancer due to it how it will impact your life. Does you or your family will really like to see you bed ridden and suffering from this fatal illness. Associate good things with non smoking. Think what will you achieve by not smoking, health benefits, financial benefits, more time to do your work, no more feeling slave,no more going out of the class, or seminar or lecture just for smoking. No more standing in bad places for smoking, no more risk of cancer and heart diseases, healthy and confident life and so on. You can keep on associating bad things with smoking and good things with non smoking.

All the best.

Hi quit for good. See it just as that...A slip up...that's all. Just don't give up giving up! Commit to quit no matter what and choose not to put another crapstick in your mouth again. I like to refer back to all my reasons why I wanted to quit in the first place and that deters me from inhaling that horrible poison into my lungs. There's absolutely NOTHING good about smoking. Be proud that you have decided to stop. It's a challenge, but so worth it in the long run. Hang in there.

Hey Quit, don't beat yourself up too bad. You have made a decision and made a mistake. I did the same thing on jan 7th after quitting on the 5th., I just got back on saddle and learned from my mistake. Like you my biggest trigger is the morning coffee. I now have a big glass of water before having my morning coffee, that has helped me. I also stay away from the pub after work.....at least for the time being. lol 11 days for me Quit and I have no doubt you will be joining me, it is so much easier today than a week ago and I'm sure next week will even be easier. You can do it.

Hi quit for good, don't stress over a slip up you are trying and that's what's important. I'm on day 46 and for me changing my routine especially the morning one was really important as it was a huge part of my habit. It really does get easier after a couple of weeks and although I will not get over confident yet I rarely think about smoking anymore and just take each day as it comes. All the best
