I'm now day 7 of Champix, 2nd day of been smoke-free =) still hard to believe.  The thing is (those who want Champix yo work) you need to have the right mind frame before you begin your Champix journey. you need to want to quit - you need to keep positive,  and you need to Help yourself through the process by focusing on the bigger picture.  Don't dwell on a few minutes of nausea,  don't blame Champix,  cuz whatever you think in your head will Happen.

Before I begin my journey on Champix,  I did my research,  read so many reviews and bad comments about how Champix is this and that.... I stopped reading into it and reset my mind by deciding not to let Champix take control of me, not to let my own mind worn against me but rather for me :) I saw it as a challenge and one I'm determined to win.

I never had a day or a minute of nausea,  no bloody side effects actually.  Nothing =) I'm actually really calm and more collected than I was without Champix.  I don't have the mood swings etc people keep ranting about. I don't feel suicidal etc I don't ever have a bad moment on Champix.  I do sometimes get a headache but headaches happen all the time with or without Champix.

Oh and one other thing, I've read many comments about people blaming Champix for weight gain lol can I just remind you all that it's actually not a side effect of Champix but rather because you're consuming more calories. After all we don't gain weight if we don't consume the calories ... you are what you eat......  its very easy for some people to turn to food when they're trying to quit... but where's your will power? ??? Zip it. Don't eat out of boredom . Exercise instead of eating and you'll lose weight,  and by exercising you'll actually benefit by gaining positive energy :)

And stake your fridge with lots of fresh veggies,  tomatoes, cucumbers,  carrots, and eat them with rice cakes and a bit of cottage cheese.  When you feel the urge to eat because you're not smoking.... chew on a carrot stick.... trust me - if you do this... it'll completely fill you up and you've gotten rid of the urge to eat and urge to smoke with one carrot lol =) laugh and be happy - think of your lungs every time you get the urge or miss smoking... and think of your waist before you start eating.... especially while trying to quit smoking because human beings have a habit of replacing one bad habit for another. .. and many and often shift from smoking to eating.... don't do this to yourself ...  you have control of your mind and body... show them who's BOSS :)

It's all up to you, some like to blame something or someone. .. bit in reality,  we are responsible for what happens to us and how. .. take control and stop playing the blame game.

I'm ecstatic about Champix,  my 2nd day smoke-free,  day 7 since I started Champix :)

Yay!  I'll post every few days as this is the best decision I've made in a very long time. .. If you're here contemplating... Do it... trust me... you won't regret it.

Hi SSS

Congratulations!! Champix is really the way to go!

Unfortunately I was hit with the booklet of side effects, from weird dreams to gaining weight. I did as you suggest stock up with salads 9 no salad dressing) I am fortunate that by nature Im a very healthy eater. I was already gyming as keeping fit is part of my lifestyle.

Im 443 days a non smoker after smoking for 30+ years, I can honestly say my 3 months on Champix wasn't easy but it was most definitely worth it.

My hand habit I replaced with carrying a bottle of water which to me was easy to do - I love cold water.

I must be honest since I quit my life has improved, my sense of smell and taste is back with a bang!

Good Luck on your journey and keep it up. the benefits in the long run out weighs the filthy habit by far.
