My Triggers

I have so many triggers I don't know where to start. If I get stressed about work I turn to a cigarette. If I have success at work I celebrate with a cigarette, if I get bored with a task I am working on, I take a break with a cigarette. I need to find a replacement for each of these situations . It might not be one.

Craig, try a bottle of water instead. Sure you'll to go to the dunny alot, but better than a ciggy. A pop top bottle close by should soother that hand to mouth urge. Could also put the smokes somewhere else too, like a desk drawer, to a friend who doesn't smoke, and put the water bottle where the smokes would be. Good luck mate, keep at it!!

Hi,

I'd been a smoker for 13 years and just recently quit. I've been smoke free now for 11 days (doesn't sound huge but considering I could easily get through a pack a day- it's a phenomenal achievement).I hadn't been able to go more than a day without for so long that not even craving a smoke is what makes me confident that I will never pick up again. The only method that worked for me was the easyway by allen carr. It was recommended to me, now I'm recommending it to anyone that will listen. I had such low willpower when it came to smokes, but under this method, you don't need it. I hope this helps, wish you all the best

For stress, 10 really slow deep breaths

For bored, make a cup of tea when the craving starts.

For success, get a massage, you can afford it with the money saved.

If you haven't started giving up yet cut down as much as you can, that will reduce the number of triggers.
