Don't want to put on weight

I gave up once before, became very fit, went to gym, trained and ran City to Surf several times, and put on a heap of weight. Lasted about eight years, times got rough, started smoking again, lost excess weight. Now I am starting to quit again to live longer, watch my grandchildren grow. If I stack on the weight, I will not be a happy non-smoker and obesity is also a health risk.

don't replace food for cigarettes i stopped smoking and did not put on any weight, cancer is also a health risk, so is emphysema.

I too have a few extra kilos but I know that they are much better than death from smoking, plus they are easier to move. You can be a happy non- smoker but you have to tell yourself that!
Any dr will tell you smoking is a higher risk of diseases.. Who cares about an extra few kilos! With exercise and eating heathy it will come off.

Excuse's we all had them the dreaded smokes I like smoking, I could get hit by a car and die, I'll get fat. I could give up smoking and not cough, and run around with my kids and not cough and splutter, I could also not end up in hospital with some terminal problem the choice is yours. I've just eaten what I would have eaten when I smoked the times may vary but the amount doesn't. It's up to you where here for support where all non smokers and giving it our best shot.

Hi nosmoke 49, I get the weight thing, for sure. But I have heard that most of the weight gained is in your first quit attempt, you have already quit before so it is possible you may not gain as much weight as you think. Everybody is different. I would focus on battling the smokes first, and the weight later.(If it happens). But just be mindful of what you eat in the first few months. I gained two stone, it is terror to shift it. But I am smoke free, my skin looks better, hair, breathing better. Have so much more energy, and over all just want to be healthy and look after myself. Alot of the excess weight can be water retention, so drink loads of water, keep active, and eat healthy , but enjoy your food, don't starve, you body will need nutrition and love. I am loosing my weight slowly for the first time in my life, I was always crashing diets neglecting myself to be stick thin. Quitting smoking was a positive for me and eating right is another positive, the weight will come off eventually. I'd rather have a bright white smile and a little chubbier, then a brown one and skinny. I hope you make the right choice for you, the thoughts of quitting can be daunting at first, but once you start, it flies by and no regrets here, best choice I ever made.

I also have given up before then took them up again. I have always battled with my weight until I discovered Body Trim. I lost 27kg in 6 months. Now I'm giving up again I am resorting to the other comfort thing in my life, FOOD! Today I have started Body Trim again and I feel confident I can make it work! On this eating plan you must eat 6 times a day so it will be good for any little smoke cravings I have! Look it up for more info
