270 days of freedom today

Today is day 270 of freedom from the cigarettes and their foul smell.

I work in the health industry and used to hate the fact that I used to smell of smoking and people would notice it and make comments behind my back.

After 44 years of being slave to the addiction, I have made 270 days of freedom from that foul smell and the devastating effects smoking has had on my health.

It was nowhere near as hard as I had imagined. Champix proved a miracle drug to me, took away the edge of the cravings and helped me see things for what they really are.

Now I truly pity people standing outside in a corner somewhere puffing away when I walk past and remember vividly how I used to be one of those self-imposed outcasts
