I quit

Posted in Staying quit 07 May 2020

Hey guys. I am 31 years old and I stopped smoking 12 days ago. I didn’t use any nicotine replacement and went cold turkey for the first time. I tried countless times to quit before and had never achieved more than 3 days. I tried patches, gum, e cigs, everything there is basically. The only thing that was different this time was that I was concerned for my health. I started smoking 30 cigs a day which started making me tired and short of breath. I very much hope that I will keep on going and success stories here are making it much easier. Every time I have a craving, I log on to read a few stories and my craving passes. Thank you.🙏

Withdrawal symptoms can be miserable, I know, but the physical discomfort is only a craving if you still want a smoke. Your body does not want a smoke. You taught your brain to want that fix, and not just nicotine. The addiction is SMOKING. Ask yourself why anybody would want to remain a stupid slave to a little tube of tobacco, and the quit can get easy :)

Welcome to the community. Congrats on 12 days smoke-free. I am also a member of team cold turkey. Your health is already getting better by knowing you needed to quit and having been able to quit this long. Keep it up. You're doing great. Have faith that you too will be a success story.
