Day 22

I am still here hanging on by a thread. I am now on Day 22 but the last few days have been difficult. I want to smoke. So far I haven't slipped up yet but I think about it a lot. Someone just posted a one year anniversary. This is really an accomplishment. Great job. I know that took hard work and perseverance. Today I am working on making it through the next hour. For now, staying the course. Thanks for listening.

Day 22 is an accomplishment! Honestly, in my opinion, any day smoke free is an accomplishment & look at you with 22 of them in a row! Good for you!! You're doing wonderful!

Hi Sweet tea, I have been where you are now at one stage, please keep us all in mind over the next few hours, and try to make that thin thread thicker, by stepping up your exercise and/or deep breathing, this is the physical way to overcome those urges.

Next step up your mental activities to give you some relief like crosswords, to jigsaws online if you like and even concentrate on buying some different foods, I tried every vegetable known to man during these periods, and tasted them before combining them in my food. This set up a feeling of looking forward to tasting something I had never tried. Now I have discovered this forum, I use these and other methods to counteract any urges, along with the support and suggestions from others.

So you are down to the hour it wont be long before you are back to the day, deep breath, not too many negative thoughts and you will get through this time, we are all with you on this.

You've come such a long way Sweet Tea....keep those hours and days coming. Soon you will be able to breath a sigh of relief and contentment for a journey well worth the rewards. I can guarantee that if you should take a puff and relapse, you will feel far worse than these cravings. You are winning this battle remember that!

Hi sweet tea no one said it was easy but it is yr battle. Im on 101 days today and was in yr position not that long ago. Deep breaths help and sugar free chewing gum help pass the time and cravings. Each day up your sleeve is a day closer to quitting. Keep telling yourself that your a non smoker, not a smoker who doesn't smoke. Not sure if it helps but keep up the battle your doing great. It does get easier.

Well done, keep going. I posted on the 4 week mark I was having a terrible time felt very stressed constantly and had bad anxiety. The anxiety was daily for around 3 weeks. I had some lovely comments and read other people’s posts which helps. Well I plodding on and Sunday I will be 10 weeks, yay me!!! How do I feel now, calmer, stress levels down, anxiety gone.

I am still working my way through this but what I am trying to say is stick with it, it does get better you just need time.

Anything you can do to look after you is a must, bubble baths to relax, early night, a walk anything that helps. I had some reflexology last week, never had before and was amazing.

    Look after you.

Keep going, we can all do this .
