So after 35 years and thousands of dollars wasted I’ve decided to say goodbye to my old friends who control my life. I’m on day 11 of Champix and I can say that’s it helped my mind stay level I get a bit of of upset stomach if I have it on an empty stomach but that’s bout it and feeling tired. I feel I’m stuck in the mental thinking of needing a smoke so haven’t given them away yet but also not giving up either they do taste disgusting and I have found I don’t always smoke the whole thing. Going to keep trying 😊

Hi Cole. Try to keep busy , if not physically then mentally as not to think about the cigarette. I hope that while you cut down, you took the time to change your times with the cigarette, how you feel about it these days. The psychological aspect of the quit is the longest and once won, will give better odds that you stay quit. Understanding you and the relationship with the cigarette can lead to an easier journey overall.

You can do this. Think positive and believe you can, and you will!

Thank you 😊 I’m giving this a real shot this time round I just need to mentally prepare myself for my triggers and I know when they are and change my routine it makes me really sad to think that I’ve let something as stupid as a cigarette rule my life. I’m aiming for 14th feb to be my official quit date so wish me luck. Will keep updating.

Hi Cole. Well done on your decision to quit. You can do it. I know a few people that have quit with champix. I agree the mental side is hard. I think about the money i am saving.

Hi Cole, look forward to the day that you throw them out of your life...it is a day to celebrate...do not fear it. Start thinking about smoking in real terms and start hating it for all that it has cost you. Once you really start to see honestly what smoking has done to you and your life you will start to hate them and never want to smoke again. The benefits are amazing and the life we lead after we quit smoking is so liberating and great. You can and will do this because you want to quit more than you want to smoke.

So today is day 12 of my Champix journey it must be doing something as there’s been a few times today even when I wanted a smoke I really couldn’t be bothered lighting one up. They taste weird now and smell weird I’m sticking with this I need to kick this addiction no matter what it takes. Feeling good but tired.

Hi Cole, being tired is all part of the initial quit journey...it will pass. You are doing really well and champion is playing it’s role also. Now you need to work on the mindset...start hating those smokes for everything they have done to you in your life....really hate them. Once you achieve that you will not have any cravings....you don’t crave what you don’t want. Keep telling yourself I want to quit more than I want to smoke. Stay strong and focused.
