staying quit

Today I was at a gathering with 6 smokers, myself and a young teenager were the only ones not smoking, well that gave me the biggest buzz, and at no stage did I feel like indulging in my past habit.

But I did enjoy the smell...but I do know that they all have mentioned that they would like to give up, because its getting so expensive, or the smoke associated health complaints are starting to set in..

But I was tested today and past the test,

That is a major achievement for me.

    Good on you!!! I admire your strenght. Keep it up!!! I'm just starting Champix today and because most of my friends are smokers, I'm going to find it hard to resist. I hope I can be as strong as you when the time comes!! Stay strong!

    Good job :) I'm not sure if I am ready to be in a room with smokers yet. Only 24 days in now. Interesting, At what point will we smell cigarette smoke for the stink it really is, and not the delicious habit we miss so much ? I can almost smell your smoky room now :)
    Another interesting thing, is what the addiction / habit does to our brain. Like the smokers in that room, saying that they would like to quit. All along, we tell ourself,, I should quit, this cost too much, I know it's not good for me, etc.. BUT that other devil addict voice says,, not today, or maybe later, or it's not really that bad, Because, the truth is, and we do not hear it much, along with all the other bad stuff, SMOKING MAKES YOU STUPID !
    At some point, we have to listen to the real / logical side of our brain, and THINK ! I HAVE HAD ENOUGH. I AM TIRED OF BEING CONTROLLED BY A NICOTINE HABIT / ADDICTION. I WANT TO TAKE MY LIFE BACK,, !! NOW !! And just do it !
