372 days without nicotene without cigarettes

Posted in Quit experiences 10 Mar 2017

I am over 1 year without a cigarette or nicotine in any form. I would like to thank the people on this forum (all of you who gave me titbits now and again and who encourage/d me)

If you have just come here and are reading this and want to give up smoking then my advice to you is doing something great for yourself, something remarkable against all odds and - GO FOR IT!!!!! Run for your life!!!!! Run! Run! Run! Do whatever it takes to stop smoking or taking nicotine in any form. Don't use excuses to go back to smoking whatever they are. Do this and feel proud that you are taking care of yourself (however down trodden you feel you've become ) RESIST and RESIST to give yourself enough time away from nicotine so that you can resolve not to smoke again. If you pick up the next cigarette, then you can't fight it! The way to stop smoking is to stay away from the first cigarette.

Its over one year now and when I feel like smoking I am still telling myself "DON'T PICK UP THE FIRST CIGARETTE"

Thank you everyone and Thank You God.. One year! Yay! Phew!

Hi Manchild....very good going and i hope that i can celebrate my 1 yr quit one day. Been quit 8 mths now and cravings very minimal. The habit is worse. However when i remember how better off i feel now after having smoked for 52yrs then no way i will turn back. The longer you can abstain from smoking the easier it gets and the little loss in pleasure makes up for it in health and fuller pockets. Cheers.
