was a bad boy today, a few beers & jibbering about bikes at pub, had 3 cigarettes, home now, feel stupid but that's all, a new day tomorrow so I'll stay positive & not change my stats on this site, beware of the "I'll only have one puff" trap
had to have a 1 hr MRI last week. Being claustrophobic & having breathing troubles when on my back had me very worried (panic stricken), 1 hr in the machine, dozed off & the time passed quickly. Realised later, I have not been able to lie on my back & breathe through my nose for years - did for one hour in the machine. Only 20 days smoke free & I can do this!!
the ex came around yesterday, ended up having 2 puffs on her smoke, tasted bad, I don't class this as a setback - more a learning experience, had a few beers at the club this afternoon & the 2nd hand smoke made me cough - 20 days, feeling great (money saved has paid for bike rego)
saw the "lung lady" at the medical centre today, on her machine, in 2 weeks I've gone from "not very much" to just over 50%, bit of emphysema there but asthma has raised it's head, on small medication but Doc said "you've nipped it in the bud by the look of it" don't give up people, smoked for 50 years but after 2 weeks I can mow the dust (drought here), trim shrubs etc & not have to sit down to ...
10 days smoke free now, have used patches with no side effects until the last 2 nights. Last night & tonight I've had very vivid nightmares, not "wake up sweating" ones but vivid enough to wake me up. Strange thing is I then feel awake & have to stay up for a few hours before trying to sleep again
only 8 days for me but what a difference in breathing already, a bit hard changing routines ingrained over close on 50 yrs but I wish I'd made the effort much sooner
