I simply want to quit so that I don’t encourage my son to take up this habit
I recently completed Dry July. I found going a month alcohol free removed a huge component of the nicotine craving.
Very recently I had a minor stroke and I attribute this to lifestyle factors like smoking. I am now a very committed quitter and I feel very proud of what I’ve achieved.
It’s been a very long road. The stroke was a final wake up call to kick the habit for the sake of my life and for the people who love me and care.
It’s so important to take ones health seriously.
I'm not sure what my future will hold but I'm hoping it's smoke free
Hi, I am on day 2 of being a non smoker. I smoked for 30 years. I watched my dad die from lung cancer and am now watching my mum gradually get worse with early emphysema from passive smoking. My partner and in quit in February. He vaped untill 4 weeks ago and has now stopped. I had three slip up where I had a couple of cigarettes as a one off just over 7 weeks ago. Now that he is not using the vape I feel the pressure to not have even one as I dont want to cause him to start smoking again ( this is helpful to me as it stops me from smoking. Issue is that he is going overseas...

Thanks to my own realisations and the help of others on this forum I am having a real go at quitting smoking. Not one puff ever is my new motto. I have felt an instant big boost to my mental well being.
Smoking really sux. It’s such a horrible thing. So many great reasons to get and stay quit forever. 🙂
I’d recommend the books you can heal your life Louise Hay or Stop giving it away by cherylynn veiland. $10 a pop!
These books give advice on self care in that have something for yourself, a gift put yourself first for once. Many of can’t justify or motivate if it’s not for someone else or a cause outside of ourselves. Giving up smoking can be just that your own private space even nirvana these...
